Launch of Global AMR R&D Hub in Geneve

On the 22nd of May, alongside the annual World Health Assembly in Geneva the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Development Hub (Global AMR R&D Hub) was launched.

The aim of the Hub, initiated by the German G20 presidency last year, and now counting with 18 members, including the USA, China, Russia, the Netherlands, France, the European Commission, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Welcome Trust, is to “promote coordination of existing and future financial investments in AMR R&D initiatives.”

Initially, the secretariat of the Global AMR R&D Hub will be based in Berlin, at the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF).
