For the Dutch radio program at NPO radio 1, Suzan Rooijakkers, explains how Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) continues to threaten our abilities to treat common infections. The professor at UMC Utrecht clarified in layman’s terms the dangers of resistant bacteria, particularly the rapid global spread of “superbugs”. These microbes need to be combatted, and her research contributes to making this into reality.
