WHO publishes fungal priority pathogens list

18 November 2022

The WHO has released a report on fungal pathogens. It is the first global effort to systematically prioritize fungal pathogens, taking into account their unmet research and development needs, and perceived public health importance.

The WHO fungal priority pathogens list (WHO FPPL) has three categories: critical, high and medium priority. The paper aims to improve future research on fungi, and to strengthen the global response to fungal infections and antifungal resistance.
